Building a party that doesn't fall apart
When I started Ashen Crown Saga I did what most people do — poured everything into one damage hero and hoped the rest would carry. It works until a boss targets your squishy backline and the whole thing collapses.
A balanced party isn't glamorous, but it survives. One durable frontliner, one reliable healer or support, and the rest damage. That base holds up across most encounters without constant restarts.
Positioning matters more than people expect in these turn-based systems. Keeping your support out of splash range is often the difference between a clean win and a wipe on the last turn.
Don't sleep on the utility skills either. A well-timed slow or shield often saves a fight better than another hit of damage. I ignored those for ages and regretted it.
